2023-2026 Term

Serving the public interest is rewarding work. Becoming an ACOT Councillor allows you to lead and regulate the profession to ensure OTs provide safe, ethical and competent care.

A note from Jennifer Lee, President

When I joined ACOT in 2017, I had no idea what I was in for- I only knew that I wanted to give back to my profession and the public. Without question, being part of ACOT has opened doors for me in my professional and volunteer life. As President, I work with and am supported by incredible people – the Executive team, fellow Councillors (past and present), and ACOT staff. I leave meetings feeling inspired and refreshed and the constant learning motivates me to keep working hard to protect the public and serve our registrants while ensuring that ACOT has fair and responsive processes. Our Council prioritizes education and offers numerous opportunities to nurture and develop all our Councillors including Council retreats, participation in education sessions and conferences, and mentorship opportunities.

This year, we are seeking new Councillors – in particular, OTs from rural areas, from diverse practice backgrounds, and Indigenous persons, persons of color and/or people from other equity denied groups. Please review the application materials, and feel free to contact ACOT if you have any questions or require support. We would love to have you!
