Renew your practice permit online now! Access the online platform by clicking on the Registrant Login to the online platform at www.acot.ca.
Be sure to renew before February 28, 2023, to avoid having your practice permit cancelled.
Note: it can take up to 10 business days if renewal approval is required. This happens if you have profile updates such as a name change or addition of an employer that is not currently in our system. Be sure to start your renewal well before the end of February.
Not Planning to Renew? Please login before February 28, 2023, to actively cancel your practice permit as of March 1, 2023.
Mandatory, 2022 National eLearning Module
The national eLearning module was developed by the Association of Canadian Occupational Therapy Regulatory Organizations (ACOTRO), to educate occupational therapists about the 2021 Competencies.
You must complete the online module prior to renewing your practice permit.
You can access the eLearning module here: https://ot-elearning.skillbuilder.co/
Ensure a completed status: The system provides ACOT with the names of those who have completed the modules, so there is no need to add the module reflection sheet to your ACOT continuing competence program (CCP) learning plan or learning records. Although you are welcome to add them into your CCP if you wish for your own tracking purposes. To receive the certificate, you must complete the survey.
Liability Insurance at Renewal
Last year at renewal you were required to upload current evidence of personally held liability insurance. This year we are switching to a declaration at the end of the renewal process. You will only be required to produce the current insurance certificate if you are one of the 10% of registered OTs who are randomly selected for review and evaluation of their continuing competence program in the spring/summer.
