Virtual Practice, Review and Evaluations Resuming

Virtual Practice across Provinces

The Occupational Therapy regulators across Canada are in process of creating a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) whereby OTs providing virtual services in another province (whether by telephone, telehealth or via the internet) can do so based on their existing registration in their home province, eliminating the need for multiple registrations when providing virtual services in Canada. Note this MOU is not in effect yet and will not be available for restricted or controlled activities in each province. Stay tuned to your eNews for further information about this exciting development!

Review and Evaluations Resuming

ACOT’s governing legislation requires us to select a sample of OT’s Continuing Competence Program (CCP) submissions periodically for review and evaluation (formerly known as audits).  We are preparing to resume Review and Evaluation processes in the summer of 2021. The rubric, policies and procedures for this can be accessed from the CCP Review and Evaluation page of the ACOT website.
