Standards of Practice Refresh
The Standards of Practice (SoP) Refresh is well underway and has been looking at the historical data collected from fielding practice queries over the last year; this data is one factor guiding the formation of the new SoP. A more detailed update on the Refresh Project is planned for next week.
Practice Queries – Did you know?
One of the higher numbers of queries fielded from March ’21 to March ‘22 was regarding private practice, with 48 queries. ACOT has fielded almost double the number of queries in the same category from the previous year (24). As a reminder to those who are interested in learning more about starting a private practice, there are two practice guidance documents that ACOT has prepared titled Practice Guideline: Legislative and Regulatory Considerations for Private Practice and Practice FAQ’s: Private Practice which can be found within the Practice Resources tab on the ACOT website (acot.ca). The creation of these documents serves as a guide for OT’s to apply the existing legislation to their private practice, and provides a resource for frequently asked questions.
