to immediately cease using any of the protected titles of an Occupational Therapist (OT) and to immediately cease representing or implying that he is a regulated member of the College. This individual also uses the following aliases:
Kelvin Cheung
Karl Cheung
In Alberta, only an individual registered with the Alberta College of Occupational Therapists may refer to themselves as an occupational therapist or use any protected title of an occupational therapist. Please beware that the individual noted above is NOT registered with the Alberta College of Occupational Therapists and he is prohibited by law from referring to himself as an occupational therapist.
The Alberta College of Occupational Therapists is the regulatory body established by the provincial government to oversee the practice of occupational therapy in Alberta. The College is responsible for protecting and serving the public interest by ensuring that occupational therapists provide competent and ethical services.
It is important that clients and patients know who is delivering their care. In choosing an occupational therapist registered with the College, the public can be assured that their care-provider is qualified to provide occupational therapy services. The College has a public register which provides details of all individuals registered as occupational therapists in Alberta, and can be found on the ACOT website.
