Diverse Voices Sought for SoP/CoE Refresh Working Groups

SoP/CoE Working Group Members Needed

Our Standards of Practice (SoP) and Code of Ethics (CoE) Refresh engagement sessions are coming to a close and we are getting ready to start the process for drafting the new SoP and CoE together with the Working Groups.

We want to make sure the SoP and CoE Working Groups are comprised of members who represent the breadth of practice and lived experiences of OTs from all corners of the province. We welcome those who will further diversify the perspectives and experiences of those who have already kindly put their names forward. This includes but is not limited to OTs who are Black, First Nations, Métis, Inuit, racialized, disabled and OTs of any age, sexual orientation or gender identity. ACOT will approach leading of the Working Groups with humility, compassion and openness to all perspectives and experiences. Contact Angela Meneley for more information.

Working Group meetings are expected to run from May-Dec 2022 with some work required between meetings (3-4hrs total/month). You can record time spent as practice hours and document participation in your CCP Learning Plan.

If you weren’t able to attend one of the engagement sessions, it’s not too late to offer your input. You can still view the 15 minute recording of the introductory presentation or review the presentation slide deck and complete the Stakeholder Input Survey. The survey will remain open until April 15, 2022. Input from the engagement sessions and survey will be collated and used by the Working Groups to guide the development of the refreshed SoP and CoE.
