Tips to Prepare for 2026 Renewal

Renewal opens January 1, 2026. Throughout December, you can complete a few simple tasks to ensure a smooth Renewal process.

  • Know the Expectations.  All registrants must complete the Four-Step Renewal Process:
    • 1. Profile Update
    • 2. Complete your 2025/2026 CCP
    • 3. Start your 2026/2027 CCP
    • 4. Complete declarations and pay
      • Early Bird Renewal- Early Bird starts Jan 1 – Feb 14, 2026. Fee: $550
      • Full Renewal– Full renewal fee starts Feb 15 – Feb 28, 2026. Fee: $650

Please be advised that assistance with renewal or payment issues will not be available outside of business hours, after 4:00 p.m. on Friday, February 13 and Friday, February 27.

  • Two Factor Authentication. Registrant login uses two-factor authentication. If you haven’t logged in recently, sign-in before Renewal to avoid delays. Access your account here Registrant Login.
  • Update your Profile. If your legal name, mailing address, education or employer information has changed, please update your Profile. Updates requiring approval may take up to 10 business days. Don’t delay, change it today!
  • Complete Mandatory Training. ACOT requires mandatory training to ensure all occupational therapists registered in Alberta share foundational knowledge. This year’s requirement is Protecting Patients from Sexual Abuse and Misconduct.  Select the “Courses” tab in your profile to complete the three modules.
    • Not sure if you’ve already completed them? Sign in to your profile and check the “My Exams” section on your homepage to confirm completion since January 1, 2025.
  • Check your PLI Expiry. Registrants must maintain a minimum of $5 million in current professional liability insurance (PLI). ACOT conducts random checks to ensure PLI is active for the registration period. Review your insurance certificate and renew with your broker if it expires in the upcoming months.
  • Feeling Lost in Renewal? Attend a CCP Support Series. Beginning in January, ACOT will offer 15-minute, topic-specific live sessions. Join for the topic OR to get your Renewal or CCP questions answered live! Pre-registration not required. Visit the  CCP Resources page on ACOT’s website for session links, dates, and times.
