ACOT’s new Standards of Practice and Code of Ethics, This Week’s CCP Meet Up: An Open Q&A Session

Have you read ACOT’s new Standards of Practice and Code of Ethics?

On September 28, 2024, ACOT Council approved the highly anticipated, refreshed Standards of Practice and Code of Ethics. Much has changed since the previous versions! For example, there is a new Commitment to Equity in Practice standard that outlines registrants’ responsibility to understand and incorporate equity-focused approaches in occupational therapy service provision. By practicing in accordance with this standard, clients can expect their OT and OT services will be respectful of the client’s personal characteristics and attributes, context or experiences of trauma and/or oppression.

Learn more by reviewing the updated Standards of Practice and Code of Ethics found on the ACOT website in the Practice Resources section. If you would like ACOT to provide an in-person or virtual session at your workplace, to discuss and explore the new documents together, please contact ACOT at info@acot.ca

This Week’s CCP Meet Up: An Open Q&A Session

Just a quick reminder that this Friday, October 18th at 12 noon, ACOT will be hosting this week’s Continuing Competence Program (CCP) Meet Up.  This week’s session will be an opportunity for registrants to have any question they may have about the CCP, renewal, or any practice issue answered.

If you cannot attend this session, remember that we’ll be hosting these information sessions weekly until mid-December. See the CCP Resources page of the ACOT website for the schedule and Zoom links!
