As you are aware as part of our strategic plan, the Council of the Alberta College of Occupational Therapists made a commitment to members and the public to improve their transparency and communication on an ongoing basis. You have seen the strategic plan and the new style of minutes as part of this strategy. To continue to encourage more communication, we will be incorporating a new quarterly “open forum” into council meetings that will allow members of the profession and the public to bring forward issues for future consideration by Council, and comment on current issues or experiences. As we continue to experience changes in the health system as a profession, it is important for us to hear about how this is impacting you and your practice under the Health Professions Act.
The first open forum will be held from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. on Sunday June 10th at the ACOT office (312, 8925 51 Ave, Edmonton, AB T6E 5J3). If you cannot attend in person, you can participate via videoconference or teleconference. If you would like to participate in the open forum, please contact Kirsten Ash at E: Kirsten.ash@acot.ca or T:780.436.8381 ext. 105 by June 4, 2018.
We value your input, knowledge and experiences and hope to hear from you at the open forum!
