To practice as an occupational therapist in Alberta, registration with ACOT is compulsory under the Health Professions Act (HPA). Registration with the College assures the public that the occupational therapist has successfully completed all requirements of registration as defined in the Occupational Therapists Profession Regulation of the HPA.
The ACOT Registry helps you verify that an occupational therapist holds a current practice permit. It is a serious offence to practice occupational therapy without a current practice permit.
