ACOT’s Virtual Consultation on the proposed
Diagnostic Practices Standard of Practice for Occupational Therapists,
Thank you to those of you who participated in the Alberta College of Occupational Therapists (ACOT) consultations on the draft Diagnostic Practices Standard of Practice, which permits occupational therapists (OTs) in Alberta to establish and communicate diagnoses within their areas of practice and competence. Your feedback and comments were very helpful, and we will use them to refine the initiative, including the Standard of Practice and the Safe Diagnostic Practice course.
Everyone is invited to please complete a survey on the initiative, whether you attended the consultations or not.
Please find the survey here: Informing the Regulation of OTs Diagnosing: Your Input Matters!
This QR code can also be used to access the Survey.

The survey is also available on ACOT’s website under Standards of Practice Consultation, as are the following materials:
- Consultation – OT Diagnostic Practices Overview
- Sample Diagnostic List for Consultation
- Draft Standard of Practice: Diagnostic Practices
Please complete the survey by November 11
The information collected from the survey and from the consultations will be summarized in a What We Heard document and released early next year.
Thank you for your feedback!
